On May 23, the Group held a signing ceremony for the implementation contract of the 1.16 billion yuan "Civil Servants' Housing and Affordable Housing Project" with Senegal's SICAP company. Senegal's Ambassador to China, Sira, and leaders from the Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, Nanjing Municipal Construction Committee, and others attended and witnessed the signing ceremony. Group President Jiang Ning and SICAP General Manager Magasuba signed on behalf of both parties.
In his speech, President Jiang Ning warmly welcomed all leaders and guests attending the ceremony on behalf of the Group. He said that under the dual promotion of the joint "Belt and Road" initiative and the China-Africa Cooperation Forum mechanism, practical cooperation between China and Senegal in various fields has expanded comprehensively, and a series of cooperation achievements benefiting people's livelihoods have taken root. The "Civil Servants' Housing and Affordable Housing Project" signed between Jiangsu Provincial Construction and SICAP, as Senegal's largest single affordable housing construction project, has received high attention from President Faye. Jiangsu Provincial Construction will strengthen close cooperation with the Senegalese side, accelerate project progress, help improve housing and living quality in Senegal, and write a new chapter in the steadfast friendship between China and Senegal.
Ambassador Sira stated that Jiangsu Provincial Construction, as a well-known international contractor, has built a number of high-quality projects such as hospitals and stadiums in Senegal. The quality performance and efficient construction of these projects have been highly recognized by the Senegalese government at all levels and the people. Currently, Senegal is promoting the "Emerging Senegal Plan," which offers huge cooperation opportunities in affordable housing construction, agricultural modernization, photovoltaic new energy, and infrastructure upgrades. It is hoped that Jiangsu Provincial Construction will fully leverage its professional advantages and strive to make the cooperation projects a new benchmark for China-Senegal cooperation. The Senegalese side will fully support Jiangsu Provincial Construction's local project construction, provide comprehensive policy support and resource guarantees, and jointly embark on a new journey in China-Senegal relations.
Director Wang Zhiqiang of the Market Supervision Division of the Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development congratulated both parties on the signing and highly affirmed Jiangsu Provincial Construction's active response to the "Belt and Road" initiative, its involvement in Senegal's infrastructure and livelihood projects, and the establishment of a good corporate brand image. He looks forward to Jiangsu Provincial Construction further deepening its presence in the African market, demonstrating more Chinese wisdom and corporate responsibility in Senegal's infrastructure construction, striving to become a bridge and link of China-Senegal friendship, a brilliant business card showcasing the image of Chinese enterprises, and injecting more momentum into the development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Senegal.
The signed "Civil Servants' Housing and Affordable Housing Project" is part of Senegal's plan to build 100,000 housing units. It is invested and constructed by Senegal's state-owned affordable housing company SICAP, covering design and turnkey construction, including a total of 183 buildings with about 3,300 residential units. The project duration is expected to be 45 months.
Relevant leaders from the Group's Overseas Business Department, Capital Operation Center, Senegal ACF company, and CITIC Insurance Jiangsu Branch attended the signing ceremony.
